An early business lesson I learned growing up on a wheat farm in Western Australia, is that you don’t want to be in the business of selling a commodity (something that is the exact same as what your competitors are offering)..

Instead, you want to sell something that is unique, which no other business can easily duplicate. If you can do this, it’s almost as if you have your own monopoly on whatever it is you offer.

You have much greater control over what prices you charge, and you’re not as vulnerable to the ups and downs of the market.

If you’re an affiliate marketer, one of the problems you may run into as you scale your business is that every other affiliate you’re competing against is promoting the exact same thing.
